I learned something about the ikoflex IIa the hard way. Evidently, the shutter
release shaft/post is a weak point on the camera and can be damaged fairly
easily in that it does not take much pressure, when accidentally forcing the
shutter release button, at times when the shutter is not properly cocked.
Furthermore, due to the frequency of this kind of accident with camera model,
replacement shutter release parts are very scarce. Whatever you do, never apply
any extra pressure to the shutter botton. It does not take much to turn this
very nice little TLR into a “for display only” camera.
