It is a great day for the USA and its people.
It is additional hope for the entire world that there is still goodness
left around.
It is a time to reflect and to be grateful.

Subject: [rollei_list] Re: Happy MLK Day

The year Martin Luther King was killed I was one of a few Northerners
attending a small sleepy Southern college. My roommate was the first
Black on campus. The night Dr. King was killed I was cramming for an
economics exam off campus. I didn't know what had happened. The next
morning I met up with my roommate who thought I was too ashamed to come
back to the room. He had spent the night by himself.

When I think of those days and what will happen tomorrow - well, I
wouldn't have thought it possible in my lifetime. I am proud to be an
American today.
