Rollei produced some special SL 66 editions. This red similar lizard
skin edition uses the same red similar lizard skin 2.8GX editions made
for Japan and the Ian Parker Rollei Club, in fact less than 10 SL 66
cameras with this cover were made for the Rolleiclub members between
2002 and 2003 according the SL 66 web page. The Rolleiclub sl 66
lizard skin cameras are not gold, perhaps this treatment was made out
of factory or perhaps in factory, sometimes Rollei did not register
aesthetical changes for some special models, it happened with the
lasts Rolleiflex 2.8F Platin, an Asian Rollei collector or dealer, I
don't recall now, bought these cameras but asking some aesthetical
modifications, Rollei made the modifications but the changes were not
registered and/or photographed.
