2 questions.

1. I have no clue as to scanning, how to get the best results, etc. The little free time I find, I'd rather spend improving my darkroom skills. That said, does anyone have any clear and effective routines for getting decent results for scaning film for posting on the web, sending to Blurb books, friends, etc? I don't have a dedicated B&W inkjet (nor do plan on buying one), but might print something now and then at the local photo shop.

So far I've been following the 'recipie' found here: http://oomz.net/ bw_workflow/

It seems to be ok, but I have no idea if there is an easier or better way to do things, or even if it's appropriate for what I'm doing (B&W scans for sharing, maybe someday in the future I'll try a digital print). I'm using a Canon 9950F with VueScan, all scanning so far has been B&W negative.

2. Related to 1, I'm wondering what to do with all of these shots I end up scanning and post processing. It seems people here have galleries on Flikr, Picassa, Yahoo, APUG, Leica forums, and probably several others.

Where/which is fine for ease of use, reasonable viewing quality, etc? I don't have huge amounts of time to spend learning a weird interface or battling with weird restrictins (as Daniel did with Blurb recently).

Is Flikr pretty much what everyone uses? It's free?

Best regards,
Thor
