Thank you for the kind comment Louis; it was my ship, the Costa Fascinosa,
Costa Concordia's twin but with a better captain. Cruise ships are around
at the south of South America in the austral summer, from the beginning of
December up to March ending, but the pandemia changed things for a while.
They offer interesting tours, to Antarctica in the south and to Salvador de
Bahia in the north; Tierra del Fuego en Argentina and the Chilean fjords.
Only the big cities have facilities to receive these monsters; otherwise,
they drop anchor close to shore and lower the lifeboats to transport the
passengers back and forth to shore, these short trips are little adventures
themselves. I hope you and your wife could be on a South American cruise
soon.
