Jerry,

This is also classed as a 'skylight' filter which I think is a little stronger 
than a UV. No reason why it can't be used as a lens protector for B&W but may 
give a slightly warm cast to colour, especially transparency film. Negative can 
be corrected at printing stage,

If it is a color conversion filter, I assume it would have no affect upon black
and white film. Could it be used as a UV-type filter to protect a lens?
