You made me panic, Allan. Fortunately, I still seem to be able to buy my
preferred FP4 plus in 10-packs for about £5. per 120 roll, on Ebay. Not cheap,
to be sure, but not twice the price that I would have expected. Perhaps I
should buy some more, though, just in case.

Yes, film is for the rich. I too have film in the freezer. Mainly reversal fim.
Even some original Velvia RVP. Over here the main problem with processing is
not price but labs closing down. 135 and 120 is still O.K. but it is nearly
impossible to have sheet film E6 processed. I will have send it abroad
(Germany) soon.

I imagine inflation is on all our minds these days what with current events. I
just watched a Youtube video about the increasing popularity of film
photography among young people but bemoaning the price of film. It’s actually
been awhile since I bought any film since I stocked up over the years and my
freezer holds about 130 rolls of 35mm, 120 and even a few rolls of 220. I did
check current prices online and it was indeed shocking to find color films $15
to $20 a roll and B&W $10 a roll. I did a quick calculation and it seem my
modest supply is worth near $2000 USD! Development is also increasing.
Including postage it is close to $10 a roll for color.
I think my future purchases will be B&W and I can develop that myself.
