I think if you had a low contrast lens which makes you use a 3.5 instead of 3 filter to print a print of proper contrast it would bring out the grain more. You'd have a more grainy print. Also low contrast lenses things never seem to separate out as well even when you do use the higher contrast printing. mark@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Mark William Rabiner > From: Elias Roustom <eroustom@xxxxxxxxxxx> > Reply-To: <rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Date: Sun, 30 Nov 2008 11:07:48 -0500 > To: <rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Subject: [rollei_list] Does the Quality of a Lens Affect Grain? > > I know there's no comparison between the quality of the lens on my > Rollei 35 and my Rollei Giro 90, but is it possible that in addition > to difference in contrast, the cheaper lens would make the images > more grainy (or less smooth)? > > E. > --- > Rollei List > > - Post to rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > - Subscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' > in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org > > - Unsubscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with > 'unsubscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org > > - Online, searchable archives are available at > //www.freelists.org/archives/rollei_list --- Rollei List - Post to rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - Subscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org - Unsubscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org - Online, searchable archives are available at //www.freelists.org/archives/rollei_list
