I remember the song and have picture(s) of who is supposed to be the original
girl. The only problem is that there is more than one "original". One name is
Helo Pinheiro and I can't remember the others right now. Actually the more
popular girl is Astrud Gilberto who is known for singing it.

I remember well when Bossa Nova music entered popular culture here in the USA.
Of course the famous song was "The Girl from Ipanema" which was translated in
English.
I have a friend and fellow forester who is the son of Aldo daRosa, a famous
Brazilian general, scientist and swimmer. His mother was Finnish and so he
spoke Portugese and Finnish fluently which are supposed to be two of the most
difficult languages for non-native speakers.
