Marc, you are 100% right on the point and to enlarge my Prochnow
previous quote, he writes in the Rollei Report 1: "... the late
fifties brought _recessionary_ developments to Rollei's door, due to
the _Japanese assault to the world market_. Dr. Heidecke understood
that the success of the Rolleiflex and the expiration of previously
insurmountable patents inspired the Japanese to copy his products. But
he also took the trend to copy him as acompliment. Apart from 100%
clones of individual components, new designs were created that neither
looked nor worked like Rollei cameras, but sold for much less..."
(Report 1, page 1-35). There is no a minimal word about Hasselblad
competition.
