I don't know the exact cause Jan, but I'd bet it was a costs issue; former
Rollei DHW couldn't pay to Carl Zeiss the license to use the Planar name on
the FX lens, lasts FX have a different brand name for the lens, I don't
recall it, anyway it is the same Planar. Carl Zeiss lenses always were more
expensive than Schneider lenses, a name matter.

This is the current Rollei website. They are
manufacturing the Hy6 only, however they repair the Rollei TLR all
versions, the SL66, the SL35, 6000 cameras. They still are at Salzdahlumer
Strasse 196, Braunschweig.
