The first Rolleikin had the special back because the standard back did not have provisions for adjusting. I think the very early ones had the film counter in the back also. All of the Rolleikin adaptors are set up to rewind the film into the cassette. The lower knob is used for this.

Not the earliest ones. They used a takeup cassette. The back had a built-in knife to cut the film from the feeding cassette.

Interesting. The only other camera I know of with this feather is the Exakta. My Varex is set up for either the conventional re-wind into the supply cassette or to use a second cassette and has a built in knife for cutting the film. This allows using short sections of film if desired.
