Ferdi:
The Rolleiflex 2,8 GX "Expression" and GX "Rollei 75th
anniversary" use the same coded serial numbers used for the 6000 system and
some SL66 models. I found these coded numbers in eBay right now:

Rolleiflex GX "Expression" Coded SN 0016745: 0=5 (key number "5") 1995
(year of manufacture); 01=Internal factory engineering level; 67-20 (key
number -20) = 47, it was made during the 47th week of 1995; 45, it means
the unit number made during that week.

Rolleiflex GX "Expression" Coded SN 0016435: 0=5, 1995; 01 internal factory
engineering level, it was made in the 1995 44th week(64-20) and it was the
unit 35 made that week.

Rolleiflex GX "Rollei 75th anniversary 1920-1995", Coded SN 0012401: 0=5,
1995; 01 engineering level; 40-20, the 20th week of 1995 and it was the
first unit made during that week for the special edition.

In the other hand, GX "Helmut Newton" edition, SN 7032950; GX "Rolleiflex
60 Jahre 1229-1989" SN 5014109 look normal numbers. Some GX special
editions also have (like some FX) a lateral plate with the edition name and
the special serial numbers for the batch:01/130; 02/130 and the like.

Hello Ferdi:
I have some photographs about GX and FX cameras
serial numbers. There is no a formal rule for these numbers. It looks like
"regular" GX and FX (those not included in "special editions") have normal
serial numbers, they are not coded numbers. Some earlier regular GX cameras
production have the serial number 4.0xx.xxx, however a later FX has the
serial number 2.000.001. A GX Rollei last version has the SN 8.xxx.xxx.
Other FX samples have SN like 7.xxx.xxx, 9.xxx.xxx. Some FX "special
edition"cameras have a lateral plate with the edition name and f.e. 1/100;
2/100; 3/100, etcetera. Last "special" FX cameras don´t have SN, they have
words on the plate name "Rolleiflex or they have nothing, others have a 7
digits number. It looks like the Serial Numbers system for the FX cameras
is the lack of it.....

Hi all,

I am familiar with the code for the serial numbers of the System 6000.
Carlos was kind enough to provide the information.

Has anyone got the code for the TLRs that was used for some 2.8 GX series
and the FX, etc? Carlos?

Thanks,
Ferdi.
