I didn't mean to offend you. Since the post was talking about radio over the Internet and jamming more into the multiplexed packets, I thought that you had never heard of bit rate (bitrate or data rate) for network data. I will be more careful with my explanations in the future, eg;

bitrate: the rate that digital data bits travel through a network.
