I would agree with Eric that the camera light meter is one of the most useless features on a Rollei. They seldom work are no good if they do work and are often cracked and ugly. I also think that the 35mm adaptor is one of the worst accessories on a Rollei making a great 6x6 handle like an awful 35mm camera. The best accessory in my opinion must be a cheap after market flash bracket that fits on the tripod mount; this makes the Rollei easy to handle with one hand, while the other hand can be used for a light meter etc. Marvin. Incidentally I don't have a lens shade but from reading the posts I should definitely get one. _____ From: rollei_list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rollei_list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jan Decher Sent: Thursday, August 02, 2007 6:35 AM To: rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [rollei_list] Re: Best/Worst Rollei accessory was Re: Google I agree with the lens shade as being the most useful (or essential) accessory. I would think the pistol grip is the most useless item, although it may have some utility in combination with the prism. Still looks and handles awkwardly. The eveready case may not be that useful in daily use but it sure has protected many of the Rolleis we all treasure during years of un-use. I always like to see the ER-Case around a Rollei when I buy one. The last 2.8/80E I bought even had the original box with it. Alas, both still did not protect the camera from internal fungus, so I sold the camera. One of the biggest oversights in Rollei design until the GX was the missing hot shoe. GX/FX and SL66SE both finally adopted the left-side mounted hot shoe. In conjunction with the Metz SCA 356 adapter allow compact flashes like the Metz 54 series to be used.
