I agree about the Canon F series. Solid cameras, very fine lenses, even the early non-L lenses were first class, and a bargain on the second hand market,

Odd that the Canon F series didn't make it in there. Or is there a general bias in camera world against FD lenses?

I have two off that list, and both Rolleis, one is a little Rollei 35 with an S-Xenar. I was uncertain about my lens being clean enough, but I ran a roll of Provia through it anyway and was blown away with amazement. The sharpness and contrast were impressive, and easily rivaled my FD lenses, and the meter was spot on in all but three shots (my fault, of course). When I get my scanner back from the office I'll have to post some.

Do any of you know if the lens would be taken apart and cleared of particulate as part of a CLA?

I also ran some Provia through my Rolleiflex, and again: WOW. Marc told me in one of his emails that "[I] haven't lived until [I] have seen 6x6 slides projected", and I just about agree, even though I'm just looking at a processed roll.
