Thanks John,
I’ll have another look. Amazon has them, but quite expensive ($85), I found a
place in the UK selling them for £45 or so, might go with them if I can’t find
a cheaper option.
The main thing I plan on using the Lee system for is grad filters and the
compendium hood. All the other filters (soft, UV, yellow/orange/red/green,
pola, etc) I have in Bay VI and in 95mm for the most part.
Cheers,
Thor

Subject: [rollei_list] Re: Bay VI closest to which filter size?
Hi Volker,
thanks for the info, especially about vignetting, as that is my main concern.
I’ll do some searching and see what I can find as far as 72 -> Bay VI.
It would be cheaper and lighter to use my existing Bay VI filters with the
72mm thread on the other lens, and allow me to use the Bay VI lens hood.
I already have the Lee system, but looked at several competitors, including
Schneider, Tiffen, Cokin, and Formatt.Hitech. Also the adapters needed from
72mm and 77mm to the 100mm holder, but haven’t yet found a Bay VI to 100mm
adapter, although I know they exist.
Best regards,
Thor

Hello Thor,
there are adapter for 67mm and 72mm thread filter to Bay VI on the market.
I have opted for the 67mm size because it allows the regular Bay VI lens
shades to fit, too. Vignetting is no issue.
Anyway I use the Formatt 100mm filter set system to use filters on my
cameras ranging from 5x4 to 35mm. The link:

similar to the Lee system but costs less.

I’m trying to rationalize my filter collection across systems. For the TLR
I have a pretty complete set in Bay III, too small to be of use for any
other camera, and due to the TLR design I can’t really use other size
filters with that camera.
However for the 6008 I have a bunch of Bay VI filters, as well as a
smaller collection in 95mm to fit the 90mm APO Symmar Macro.
I recently bought a 4x5 setup, with a Rodenstock APO-Sironar-S 210mm. The
filter thread size is 72mm. Later I may pick up something wider, but for
now I’m wondering if there is a 72mm -> Bay VI adapter, and if it will
cause vignetting or not. If so, I guess I’ll go with 72mm -> 95mm.
The filters in question are largely for B&W, i.e. yellow, green, orange,
red, as well as a polarizer. I recently picked up a set of Lee grad
filters and holder with adapters that will fit all the lenses I have, and
can be mounted outside of any B&W filters.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Thor
