Mark, I agree with you on all points. To try to bring a little clarity to my
earlier post I was trying to say those who would promote as a fact that
there existed no WMDS in Iraq were either misleading or in plain error in
G.W.Bush admin view. The reason for this is that WMD have been defined by
the G.W.Bush admin as the chemical weapons that were used in the 1980's on
Iranians and his own people.
I am no fan of the war either or any war for that matter.

Well, for starters, we do know that Saddam at one time used poison gas on
both Iranian soldiers and on his own people. We know that he had the
capacity to produce more and we now know that the equipment to do this was
evacuated to Syria where it is still located. We discovered small stocks
of chemical and biological weapons though nothing on the order of what we
expected to find. We also discovered munitions suitable for devlivering
such weapons.
And now there are the tapes which surfaced recently which cover a
discussion between Sadaam and his top aides over the use of such weapons
and discussing how the weapons inspectors were being misled and deceived.
I am no fan of the Iraq War but I do acknowledge that Sadaam was a
troubling and destabilizing force in the region with a technical ability to
obtain and employ chemical and biological weapons and to possibly develop
nuclear weapons.
