Agfa Scala film and its dedicated process appeared in the market in 1996
really. A B&W slide helped as pattern for traditional printing work, the
same way a color slide was used for color printing, however this market
changed and was disappearing with the digital era for the printing work too.
Addox is manufacturing the Addox Scala 160 now,, a B&W 35mm film thought
for reversal processes; it can be used as regular neg film too. Foma sells
a special reversal process kit for the Fomapan 100 and other films. "dr 5"
in Iowa says the lab can apply the best reversal process for almost any
kind of B&W film including some remnant Agfa Scala film.

At the beginning of the first decade of the 2000s, the Agfa Scala film
aimed to obtain black and white slides through a special process in
authorized laboratories, aroused some expectation in the world of
commercial and artistic photography. I initially bought two 120 rolls in
2003 to try this film because there was an authorized lab in Buenos Aires
city (Novella Lab) and I could send the films there for the dedicated
process. After to expose both rolls with the Rolleiflex 2,8C Xenotar, I

It was said Agfa Scala was APX 100 film pushed to ISO 200 during the
dedicated process, perhaps it was true because I bought more Scala rolls
and needed to use them as regular film; I exposed them at ISO 100 and
developed them with Rodinal 1+25 as for APX 100 and results were right,
however I perceived more contrast in comparison with true APX 100 negs.
Yesterday I re-scanned one of the Scala B&W slides, it looks fine after 15
years, I projected a few times these slides (Rolleiflex 2,8C Xenotar):
