Anyone who has checked into bayonet IV filters and hoods knows the prices
are just insane. Even the Chinese knock-offs are outrageous. Since I plan on
actually using this camera there are several items I really wanted. A
bayonet IV to 49mm adapter is widely available at varying prices. The
cheapest I found it was $19.95 with free shipping. Now the problem is from
at least one account vignetting can occur using 49mm filters. Now I know
filters are available in slim or WA versions but these tend to be pricey
too. I might as well buy Heliopan bay IV at $100 each.

After studying their catalog I decided to try the Cokin A system. I ordered
a bay iv to 49mm adapter, a Cokin 49mm mount and holder, modular lens hood,
polarizer, 3 warming filters, and a neutral grad. This all set me back about
$160 including a handy little nylon case to hold everything. When I
installed the adapter and the Cokin mount on the viewing lens I detected
some vignetting. Out came my handy Dremel tool and I did some grinding on
the inside of the Cokin mount. I just did some test shots and will report
after I get that roll processed.

I managed to win an Ebay auction for a broken neck strap with sissors clips
for $18.50 including shipping. I picked up a strap and bucket at my local
Tandy?s (already had some rivets) for about ten bucks. Now I have a good
neck strap.
