Carlos,

BS. Prochnow does correct his failures to properly document the actual
situation, but only when pressured. I understand that the later editions
of his ROLLEI REPORT 2 finally acknowledge that the 2.8/8cm CZJ Tessar T
was the lens used on the first and more numerous run of the 2.8A, but it is
disturbing that he would not acknowledge this from the get-go. F&H had a
huge and quite underplayed recall campaign in the US to replace these
lenses, and hush pressures were placed on the press not to discuss this.
Prochnow simply followed the Company approach until historical purists
suggested that he set out the truth.

I acknowledge that the Rolleiflex 2.8GX and FX do show quite a few F
features, but the basic chassis is that of a T and the basic mechanics are
those of a T. The substitution of a Compur 0 as required by the 2.8/80
Planar in place of the 3.5/75 Tessar or Xenar used on the T's is not a
matter of rocket science, as both the Compur 0 and 00 require an identical
mounting hole, I believe.

Rollei kept the breed alive by taking the basic T chassis and updating it
as necessary to accomodate the faster lens and using the tooling on hand.
But the 2.8GX and FX, at the end, are updated and reworked T's with a bit
of the F thrown in. Again, look at them side by side, a 2.8F and a GX or
FX and a T, and handle them. The GX and FX show a lot more T than F in
their layout and design.
