When the SL35E came out,
I was in a traditional Photoshop selling a lot of Rollei products.

Hey, I have the new SL35E, THAT IS A CAMERA!
He opened a box, fresh from factory, took the camera, released the shutter
---- and: The shutter stuck. ;-)

you are really nicely reviving the Rollei SL35 series... ;-)

:-) , the Rollei SL 35 series offered excellent lenses; Carl Zeiss
and most Rolleinar lenses were first rate optics; some cameras were too
expensive at the time, the SL 35M and ME designs were outdated (it does not
mean they were bad cameras necessarily), the E cameras, when they appeared in
the market, had some features you couldn't find in the best Japanese cameras
but the problems were prices, marketing and reliability, some products needed
more maturation before to be introduced into the market.
