Visited the exhibition several times,
took a bunch of photos.
They can be published, so I will upload them to Flickr, but will take time.
Please remind me later....
Regards
Dirk

Hello John et al:
The "Rolleibaby" photograph in the article mentioned by
Jan is a 1954 prototype, designed by Friedrich Sommermeyer senior. This
prototype was the first Rolleiflex with interchangeable viewfinder hood and a
Pentaprism and other accesories were designed for the view inder. It used a
Compur shutter with EV and it could use 127 film for 12 4x4 frames or 35mm film
for 36 frames, it had two film counters for 127 and 35mm film. A mask was
inserted for the 35mm film; in other words, it was a camera for two films
format. There is a larger explanation in Claus Prochnow's Report II third
edition, this camera is the PR 193 for the Prochnow's Rollei Catalog. Anyway,
the interchangeable viewfinder hood used for the 6x6 from 1958 was more
practical.

Jan,
That very definitely is a prototype; it looks like a full blown Rolleiflex
which has been to see "Honey, I shrunk the kids". It may have been the
prototype for the Rolleiflex 4x4 Sport.
Carlos will possibly be able to elaborate.
John

Just saw the picture of the “Rolleibaby 4x4” with Xenotar in the Braunschweig
links. Was this a Prototype?

Hi Dirk,
Too bad. Due to the Paris trip I can't make it to Braunschweig right away.
But, please take some pictures and post them for us, if you can.
I hope the exhibit allows photography. I remember being in the Eastman Kodak
Museum in Rochester, NY, a few years ago and being told quite firmly to lock
my Contax 645 away because photography was prohibited in the museum! -
Rather oxymoronic...
