Jerry, it it is an old camera. Of course there are still Rolleis being made but any of the automat variations will be pretty old. Do you know for certain what lubricants Rollei was using on these cameras. Note that even modern synthetics do not have an infinite life, for one thing thay can accumulate dirt. In any case, fixing the problem requires opening up the camera.Richard,
FYI, the 2.8FX is NOT an old camera and should not be suffering from oxidized lubricant.
And so you are wrong by stating that ALL Rolleiflexes are getting on to be 50 years or older. TTBOMK, FX Rolleis were still being made a few years ago.
