Yes, both situations are normal for the 2.8C . There
is a little trick if you wish to set 1/500 and you
have the shutter cocked, you can put the lens cap and
then to release the shutter, afterward you can set
1/500 and after to unlock the double exposure
prevention you can cock the shutter again and to shoot
at 1/500 using the same frame.-
