It was shot in Agfacolor CN-17 unmasked color negative, the film was more
or less well stored, but it still decayed a lot. It's fascinating how well
your Kodachrome slides have held up to time.

Thanks, Richard, and yes, I know of its reputation since it was passed to
me, when I was about 13, but it feels like the new generation never really
'got the hang' of Rolleis. They are overshadowed by Leicas, Nikons, and
probably even some japanese point-and-shooters.
As for the state it's in, ideed, they mostly feel like new aways. Every
little detail so well thought of, it almost doesn't match our best
standards for quality nowadays. Something only a one-factory-centered
production process can do, I guess. Maintenance side, it had a big overhaul
(including a new lightmeter cell) in the early 90s. I had to open it a
couple of times, when the screw holding the self-timer knob fell off and
jammed the mechanism, and later to re-cement the lens, which was terribly
separated (probably 70% or so) and was plaguing my pictures in anything
larger than F/8.
And thanks Carlos, those pictures always make me nostalgic for times I
haven't lived. You probably know Brazil's situation nowadays and what I
mean. I'll check on your father's pictures. The serial numbers are as follow

(longing, yearning) to me. I uploaded to flickr some photographs and
Kodachrome slides taken by my father in the '50s' and beginning of the
60's with the Rolleiflex 2,8C I use yet and a Voss Diax IIb, but I need to
look for each image link; they are in my Flickr gallery anyway.
It would be interesing to know your 2,8f serial number and taking lens
brand and serial number too, to know when it was manufactured approximately.

I'm the proud owner of a Rolleiflex 2,8F that has been in my family for
a little under 60 years now. It was bought by my grand-uncle when he was
serving with the UN in Suez in 1961 and brought back to Brazil as a gift to
my great-grandfather, who was an avid amateur photographer. This camera was
frequently loaned to close relatives, and I'd like to show a couple of
instances where that happened and rendered some wonderful pictures.
The first one was an almost 800km one-way trip that my grandfather, one
of his brothers and a friend made in a 1926 Ford T, which supposedly could
only reach 40km/h. This was all shot in mid-August 1968, only one roll, all
12 pictures are worth it. If I'm not mistaken, it's in Agfa Isopan.

The next one is of my grandparents' honeymoon, from late 1971. Four
rolls, once again, there's not one "unusable" picture. Now you'll see a
1961 VW Karmann-Ghia (cars were always a huge part of the family).
Unfortunately, Flickr didn't sort out this ones correctly.

If anyone else has old pictures made with cameras they now own, I'd
really like to see them. It's great to compare with whatever it is we're
shooting with them nowadays.
