My two cents worth:
I chaired our congregation's organ search committee a little over three
years ago. We had a predisposition toward a pipe organ, but after seeing
the financial considerations dismissed that alternative early in the
process.
spending $250,000 and up on a decent pipe organ versus 1/4 that amount on a
resplendent digital electronic organ was an easy choice. Think of all the
good that can be done in the other ministries of the church with that extra
cash!
