We are planning our second annual volunteer musician's concert combined with congregation carol-a-long. Last year's inaugural event was very well received. Four organists, two flautists(?), etc. plus sing-a-long with requests from the congregation. I plan to use music from the Frog Music Christmas book(s) this year. -----Original Message----- From: rodgersorgan-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rodgersorgan-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of noel jones, aago Sent: Thursday, October 10, 2002 8:20 AM To: rodgersorgan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [rodgersorgan] What are you doing for Christmas? After choir last night it struck me that most of us are deeply embroiled in the preparation of Christmas music, and knowing the makeup of our group, there's a wide variety of music going on. The church I am interim organist at is doing some Cantata that is designed to be sung with taped tracks....which they are not using, so we are playing it on organ and piano which sort of rules out the instrumental prelude in the work, since it relies heavily on drums and brass which we don't have and it sounds foolish on organ and piano. My wife may be playing organ with a pickup orchestra and chorus, soloists for a neat Messiah Sing-In....if so I will be in the back, way back, of the Cello section. Somebody has to sit last chair and I would be glad to warm that chair. Her church where she is organist/director is preparing a Choral Evensong, including an arrangement of the Sussex Carol that I wrote for organ and at her request subsequently set for four part choir. What are you doing? Let us know and help the undecided finalize their plans. noel jones, aago athens, tennessee, usa ------------------------------- frog music press rodgers organ users group www.frogmusic.com A MIDI Musical Christmas 2002 An Angelic Christmas 2001 Music for the PR-300 and Organ Solo at Frog Music Press To unsubscribe or change mail delivery (digest, vacation) go to our website at www.frogmusic.com A MIDI Musical Christmas 2002 An Angelic Christmas 2001 Music for the PR-300 and Organ Solo at Frog Music Press To unsubscribe or change mail delivery (digest, vacation) go to our website at www.frogmusic.com
