Hi .............
I will add my 2 cents worth and 25 years of field time. The wound core and
the ferrite base are attached with silicon sealant. I have seen cases where a
little of the sealant made it to the matting surfaces of the cap and base, a
bad thing. You likely will have to remove the nut and tensioning spring then
very carefully pry the cap from the base. Clean up the mess and reassemble.
Look very closely to the edges it only takes a drop of the stuff to weld the
cap to the base.
