We have four regular organists (one for each Sunday of the month) plus two subs who fill in. Among six pairs of feet, surely there is at least one case of athlete's foot. That seems a good argument for always wearing shoes. The first thing an organ teacher should do is get his or her student into a comfortable pair of proper organ shoes.
