right now, I play a 3-manual Casavant (where I work). We're thinking of doing some work on it, and I was thinking (bad idea). Whenever I think, it ends up costing someone a LOT of money! Here's what I was thinking.... Right now the organ has 3 manuals, 34 stops, and 45 ranks. I'd like to add more stops.....LOTS more actually. I know it's possible to have a Rodgers console connected, but is it possible to have a 4-manual console, and have the 4th manual (solo division or whatever), digital? Also, can digital stops be added to the existing 3 manuals? Basically, I'd like to have a total of 4 manuals. Naturally, there's a lot of work involved here, such as where to put the speakers so the sounds will appear to come from the pipes. There's also the problem of the digital ranks staying in-tune, while the actual pipes go out of tune, as organs do from time to time. Please tell me what's involved here. How long the work would take, etc....
