some organs are built with the concert organist in mind, thus the 16' in the 
crescendo sequence. There are some large instruments here that bring in the 
16's at the end of the crescendo sequence. I've played some older 
tubular-pneumatic organs, whose crescendo sequences are totally pointless, in 
which there are only 5 or 6 stages. You're either playing with very little, or 
everything. No in-between.
