One interesting aspect of Organ with MIDI Orchestra music is that it can be
very
flexible.
The three books we just introduced at Frog Music Press:
Sacred Arias and Chorales of J.S. Bach
Classical Harmonies
Hymn Tune Preludes and Postludes
These three were originally conceived as ORGAN/PIANO DUETS, and they are
printed
that way in the books. They include MIDI Disks so if you do not have a pianist
you can perform them with the MIDI Disk playing the piano part. The MIDI disks
often add other instruments as well.
Now on the market is a new book from LifeWay/Rodgers/Genevox, PRAISES GRAND AND
GLORIOUS. Featured on the cover is a great picture of Ovid Young standing at a
Rodgers Trillium III Manual.
The Organ arrangements in the book are by Ovid Young with MIDI Arrangments and
Orchestrations from Chris Howard (whom you may know from his arrangments in
PARAPHRASES) and registration suggestions and performances on the organ for the
SMF and recording by Rodney Barbour.
The book too is printed in organ/piano score so that with two copies you may
perform it without the MIDI (or with it) as piano and organ music. The ISBN
