OK so it is out there, Sierra Rocketry Association has the waiver for
BALLS! Sept 25-27. 50k feet!
Location to be determined since UROC has applied for a waiver as well. So
we will be separated from them at some distance. Plenty of room at the BRD.
If TRA Gerlach decide to turn their waiver back on for BALLS we will work
it out.
As of now we have to keep it to a max of 50 people with current Covid
19/BLM regulations.
Registration will be set up and there will be a launch fee. This is to
cover the cost per person to the BLM as well as the outlay from Sierra
Rocketry Association to make this happen.
What we need is a lot of people to step up and help. Help with check in,
RSO, Pad Manager, and LSO. For the core group of SRA probably figure about
1-2 days of work and 1 day of flying. This is a primo chance to put Sierra
Rocketry Association on the map.
I spent a lot of time either on the phone or shooting and replying to
emails this week and we are finally there.
The plan is to set up on Thursday 24 September and fly 25-27 shutting down
on Sunday at 1 or 2 PM.
This will be a TRA Launch all weekend but the two organizations play well
together.
I would like to have the LCO's to be L3 or monitored by an L3.
Safety is Paramount.
