[roc-chat] Re: 18mm and 24mm E, F, and G motors

My first mid power build was the Madcow Mozzie and it was very much like a big
Estes kit and it was a lot more durable than I thought it would be. I flew that
thing on large Gs and even Hs, I finally lost it on a cloudy day flying it on
an H225 redline.

I never thought of it as "overclocking" a rocket but I like the term.

Jack will have plenty of those motors in stock (unless the Arizona guys cleaned
him out). It's a good opportunity to play with some reloadable motor cases in
that size. Just be sure to think about stability with new motors.

If you really want to step up you might try a simple 38mm kit like a Polecat 3"
Goblin (my L1 Cert rocket) or one of the Madcow kits. They build like a big
Estes kit. Use wood glue on the wood and cardboard and epoxy on the fiberglass.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks,
Mike

  Hey rocchat!

For the next couple launches I am going to start eeking my away into the
high(er) power regime and noticed that although all of my rockets have 18mm and
24mm mounts, there are various motors out there of these sizes that are also F
and G. I am interested in trying out these motors, namely if the on-site
vendors have them, or if I can order them from some online locations. I'd be
using them to 'overclock' some proven capable Estes models, such as the
Bigdaddy and the Fatboy. Any size recommendations to use in a model like this
that are known to be 18 or 24mm?
