But I do agree with Roger Brown -
Hemphill has money already invested and sounds like he does plan to move
forward.

I have not received any communication from Mr Hemphill, and honestly, I
don’t feel there is anything he can do to change my mind on not wanting
storage facility on that property.
The Hall County Planning Commission voted 4-1 to deny his proposal. Sounds
like he is trying to win over Riverwalk and get our support in order to move
forward. Very doubtful he can win me over if he still wants to build on that
lot.

Planning commission details aside, is there anything that Mr. Hemphill can
say to us right now that would make us want a storage facility backing up
to our neighborhood?
My thoughts are, we fight this tooth and nail until we have no options,
then we consider negotiating with Mr. Hemphill. I don't want to encourage
him to carry this fight forward by making concessions now.

Just to clarify, the Planning Commission has RECOMMENDED denial 3-1. The
County Commission has final say on the matter. There have been instances
where the Commission gave approval AGAINST the recommendation of the
Planning Commission when they voted for denial 4-0. I'm sure Mr.
Hemphilll will bring all his ammo to the Commission meeting in April. As
we know, he's already invested a considerable amount of money on this
project and he will use any, and all angles to accomplish his goal. It's
important to be even more vigilant and active now than before. Just my
thoughts.

The council already denied his request, wondering why we would entertain
a discussion with him, which in my mind would only encourage him to move
forward with a new proposal. Does he think us daft? I know he still needs
to meet with the commissioners but that they should lean heavily on the
advice of the council, correct? We are on board with however the majority
want to proceed. But seems to me he is dead in the water and trying to
get us on board and honestly is there anything he could change to make us
in favor of this?

Hi neighbors,
Attached is a voicemail that I received on my phone this afternoon from
John Hemphill trying to reach Chris concerning the 7 acres behind us. I
thought you all needed to hear it. Chris has not responded to him
because he’s still working.
Thanks,
Deena
