I was out boating as well, but I use other than wind power. Spent the 2 days
anchored in and around Bone Island. What a beautiful weekend. Even swam in
water that was like a tepid bathtub.
The wind was pretty brisky, coming from the NW and changing periodically to
the south. Tricky when you have a 25,000 vessel with a flybride...a lot of
windage. However, one must work with the wind not against it. Docking with
the wind blowing you into the dock, parallel your boat with the dock and let
the wind blow you in. Don'y try to come in on an angle or you may be in
trouble. Leaving the dock was a bit trickier. I was docked on Port side. Turn
the helm towards the dock...Starboard prop forward, Port prop reverse. The
stern comes out nicely and with reverse from both props, the boat moves nicely
from the dock.
