Also there was a short piece on Medicaid expansion on Idaho Reports on PBS
earlier tonight – also discussion of the waivers – the comment was about the
level of grassroots energy around the state for Expansion!

Subject: [MEFI] IMPORTANT: Next Two Meetings, Library Event, Upcoming Events
Dear All,
Claudia took 25 petitions to the County Elections Office today. Some were not
completely filled out, so we can expect anywhere from 200-250 (or more)
verified signatures, which is amazing. The 25 petitions didn't include the
ones from our mid-day volunteers, Judy, or myself. Overall, I think we were
quite successful at the library. I have a few other shifts scheduled at the
library; when we meet, we'll look at scheduling additional times throughout the
week in addition to Saturday. Well done!
I would like to schedule a meeting this Thursday or Friday, at 6:30 p.m. My
preference is for Friday, but I will go with the majority on this. Please
respond as soon as possible so I can notify everyone. The following meeting
will be on Monday, February 26, at 6:30 p.m. For now, plan on it being at my
house, but this may change, and I will update as soon as I can.
Here are a list of upcoming events that we need to discuss at our next meeting.
* As most of you probably know, our representatives from District 33 will
be here on this Saturday for a Town Hall meeting at the library. This is
scheduled from 4:30-5:30. I have scheduled 1.5 hour shifts before and after
the event to get people at the library as they are coming or going for the Town
Hall. It is now listed in Signup.com
* Thursday, February 22 - A small team will go to St. Anthony to present
to the Fremont County Democrats about what we have done as a team and give them
information for how they can get started collecting signatures in their area.
Ann Schenk may step up to be the county team leader. Annette is driving, and
so far Todd is going and possibly Claudia. (Claudia, I can't remember if you
confirmed this.) We will discuss the plans for this at the meeting later this
week.
* Saturday, February 24 - Zach and the Medicaid Van will be here for a
big canvassing push beginning at The Villa and ending at Tap-N-Fill. The state
team was phone banked on Saturday to organize volunteers, and I hope to have
information from Zach before we meet on Thursday or Friday.
* Tuesday, March 13 - We will plan multiple volunteers at the polling
places at the School District 93 precincts. One positive of this is that the
majority of District 93 voters are in Legislative District 30 (or District 34
if we send people to Iona or Ucon). I will confirm with Zach, but I think we
might be able to get statewide phone banking support on this as well.
See you this week!
