And when I'm having a guitar player sing and play at the same time,
I like to use dynamic mics.

You've got to eq a little more, to bring out the high end and shave off the mud, but you get much more separation between the vocal and the guitar than you ever wouldl with condensers of any kind.

Except for maybe if you used a contact mic of some kind on the guitar.

Then I suspect you might get a sound more approaching what a pizo would give you, maybe a little better.

I can get a good sound from my sm81s
but I like what the big mic does to the low end better, it is a big sound,
but I can shave it off and work with it.

but there's something nice the cad does over-all that I like better, the
imaging of the sound is better, I know you don't have imaging as such with
only one mic, but the bitg mic just seems to capture more of the guitar.

How ever like you said, experimentation and different sounds for different
situations, I have to do a little more eq work with the sm81s on acoustic
guitar.
