[real-eyes] sound card on my note book

This morning I was reading email and all of a sudden the speech
stopped. I turned the computer off and restarted. nothing!!
Unplugged the speakers and did another restart and I have no sound on
start up or window-eyes and/or anything else. Thannk god for the
braille display or I'd be totally dead in the water.
Any ideas? Can this be fixed? Do they just go out like that?
call if you want cause reading email on a 40 cell display in a pain.
