If you open the new message; select View/From Field, that field should show up. Use Shift-Tab and you should immediately end up in an edit box ready for you to enter whatever addy you want. That option in the view menu, by the way, is one that will stay selected from session-to-session. Looks like you can use Alt+R as a hot key. Let me know if this works. -----Original Message----- From: real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Kimberly A. The only option it's giving me there is whether or not I want the from field at all--not an option for what I put in the from field in therms of a label. Suggestions? Open new message and then View/From Field. -----Original Message----- From: real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Robert Beach Sent: Thursday, July 07, 2011 8:29 AM To: real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [real-eyes] Re: changing the from field If I understand correctly, your wanting to change the contents of the from field, not the tag From on the field. In other words, sometime you want the field to appear like this: From: Kimberly Morrow, PhD And other times you want it to appear as: From: Message of Hope Is this correct? If so, the only two ways I know to do this are: 1) Create different accounts in Outlook for each e-mail account. This would mean creating a different e-mail address for your personal e-mail and your ministry as well. You can easily do this with RoadRunner, Gmail, Yahoo, etc. Then you would switch between the two accounts to check the messages. 2) Go into the account properties and change the display name (I think that's what it's called) to the one you want to show at that time. You cannot edit the From field when you are composing a message, at least not so far as I know. However, some of the more e-mail knowledgeable folks on this list may know differently. If so, it would be nice to be able to do this. I want to change the "from" field to a different name in an occasional email message--but not always--just once in a while. Sometimes I want the email to say it's from me; at other times, I want it to say it's from my ministry (Message of Hope). I see where you can tab and edit the to, cc, bcc and subject fields. However, I don't know how to locate and edit the from field.
