No, NLS books will not play on I devices, at least not at this time. Learning Ally and Bookshare do have apps for iDevices though. ________________________________________ From: real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mitchell D. My eldest daughter wants a new iTouch for her birthday. Maybe I will get her one with VO, and then we will see. At least I wouldn't be able to grump about not being able to distinguish buttons <g>. -----Original Message----- From: real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Andrea Breier Sent: Friday, April 20, 2012 9:42 PM To: real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [real-eyes] Re: NLS Player Activation You know I never even thought of that. Shows how much more up on that you are than I am LOL I always am upset that I am excited to get a new book reader and am already out all that money and it is basically a paper wait until you jump through their hoops. This is why the iPhone, for me, is so refreshing. I can buy one, and use it just as soon as it is placed in to my hands. Just like everyone else.woo hoo!!! Hugs, Andrea M. What is irritating is that they send the first request off to your library to verify you are authorized. Never mind that you couldn't submit the app in the first place without being authorized through your library. Would be a whole lot better if you could give the serial number on the spot and get the key at that time. Or at worse, have that forwarded to the library for fulfillment. It ought to even be possible to ship the devices with the key already on them then do a PGP type exchange with your library to authenticate them. -----Original Message----- From: real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Andrea Breier Sent: Friday, April 20, 2012 9:04 PM To: real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [real-eyes] Re: NLS Player Activation It really shouldn't take that long, and yes it is like that for all players. Lynn Sent: Friday, April 20, 2012 7:52 PM To: real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [real-eyes] NLS Player Activation Are all the player activations as convoluted as that for the BookSense? This is going to take days (already has), first request activation on BARD, E-mail is sent to Wolfner to verify I am an authorized user, then E-mail from them to manufacturer, and finally manufacture contacts me for still more info. If this is the way it is for all players, then so be it. It is still convoluted and too many unnecessary steps, but if this isn't how it works for all players, then BookSense needs to get their sh_t together.
