Yepper. And, just a note, the Book Sense recognizes both .DOC and .DOCX
formats, without an add-on pack. Don't get me wrong, I love the Stream, but I
also love the Book Sense.

And this is one of the many reasons why purchasing the add-on pack is
unnecessary in my opinion. The recording conversion to mp3 is a joke because
the recording quality stays exactly the same. It does not improve.
It only saves to a different file format but, you are still stuck with 96 bit
monno. Also you can already use the Humanware companion to get files into the
correct formats for the Stream to use very easily, so buying the software pack
may save a step, but there's no real benefit. If you use Humanware companion
it doesn't even save a step!

To answer both of your questions in one message:

1) Can the stream read e-books that are .TXT files?

Yes, as long as they are truly .TXT files, and not some odd flavor.

2) Can the Stream read .DOC files?

Only if you purchase the add-on pack. It will allow the Stream to read Word
documents. I believe the Stream Companion will automatically convert Word
documents into a different format when it transfers files to the Stream, but
that is a different story.

The Stream will read HTML or RTF files, so I would recommend saving your Word
documents as either RTF or Web Page Filtered and transfer those to the Stream.

Also, can the stream read .doc files from Microsoft word?

Hi Duyahn, text files play just fine on the stream.
Are you talking about some of the public domain books that are available
from various sources?
I'm asking because many Ebooks are PDF files, but text files should play
just fine, and I've always had the best luck placing them right in the
.TEXT folder.
