Dave Wilson of the VTC asked me to pass this on……..he coordinates the Train
Running at Lewis Ginter ………it is open anyone who wants to run trains and Dave
tells me that many “train runners are unaffiliated.

Dave told me to be aware that all new volunteers at Lewis Ginter must:
1. Attend a 1 hour orientation about the facility.
2. Be fully vaccinated against Covid 19
3. Wear a mask indoors.

Next is something a little different but I would suspect some of you are
interested. This is a pdf of an article from the Annals of Internal Medicine in
1970 about FDR’s illness. It was written by Howard Bruenn, his cardiologist……I
remember being given this article to read by my cardiology attending in Oct
1978……as an example of the natural history of basically uncontrolled HTN with
coincident smoking, leading to the development of congestive heart failure,
atherosclerosis and stroke.

I trust that many will find it interesting as Dr Bruenn weave the story in the
background of WWII.
