Thank you Ken, and to all those who have helped to get ready for this weekend.
I have been out of town for a spell and today was my first time seeing the
layouts in a month or more - very impressive on many fronts - great progress.
And, a special shout-out to our fearless leader. Peter, you make it all look
easy. It is not.

IMPORTANT -PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE RUNNING THIS WEEKEND DURING THE CRAFT SHOW
The yard lead module has been rebuilt with the addition of an Atlas
crossover. This new crossover is causing some issues on some engines and cars
when running on the inside loop.
Wheels will short out on the powered X shaped center rail in the middle of
the crossover. In command mode the short will trip the power brick feeding
the inside loop. I've ground some of the center rail away and that "seems" to
have fixed the shorting problem at least on the engines and cars that were
available for testing today.
If a car has wheelsets that are too narrowly gauged they will ride up on the
plastic guard rails of the crossover. The car will hop badly going through
the crossover and may derail. This is especially true of Weaver cars with
plastic trucks (Weaver cars with metal trucks should be OK). We did find one
MTH car that had its wheelsets out of gauge and therefore had the hopping
problem. We did not try any postwar cars but given the lack of standards in O
gauge these cars might have a problem with the crossover.
Bottom line - If you have issues running on the inner loop at the crossover,
remove the offending car and don't try to run it. Leave a note as to what the
manufacturer was and whether the car was postwar or modern. Right now I don't
see a quick fix for this so its going to take some time to sort out.
