If RC3R is going to do this show, it is a one day deal and therefor should only
use the small layout. RANtrak has open house in Ashland in conjunction with
National Train Day so I will not be participating with RC3R.

Given plans for the power cart, and rewiring to correct command control issues;
any and all work on the small layout is off the table for 2018.

That was my reading of her proposal. The big layout would have to be up and
available for at least a weekend and they would have to cover our
transportation costs to the event. It seems that a counter proposal of the
smaller layout (maybe expanded to an L?) would be a decent counter proposal
and far more doable.

Jack

I'm probably "in. However reading her email, sounds like she wants the full
layout there.

at the Ettrick Library ?
What questions do you have ?

Dear Bill,
We met last year at the Ettrick Library's Train Day event and discussed the
possibility of the River City 3 Railers being part of the Lee Hall Train
Station Foundation's National Train Day festival.
The Friends of the Lee Hall Depot annually host a Train Day Celebration. This
year's event will be held on Saturday, May 12 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Denbigh
Community Center in Newport News. It is free and open to the public with the
objective of promoting appreciation and awareness of American railroading.
Activities include model layouts of all scales, costumed characters, a rideable
train, door prizes, entertainment, educational programs and a host of fun
activities for children of all ages.
Because of increasing popularity, this year it will be in one of the center's
largest spaces, which means we can add new elements such as your club's amazing
modular display. In our discussion, you mentioned that your full size layout
was 20x40 and required 4-5 hours to assemble. Setup will be Friday, May 11
from 3-8 pm and day of show from 8-10 am.
This is an invitation requesting your participation. Please contact me by
March 1, 2018 to let me if you and your members would like to do so and any
necessary details (number of 6' tables/chairs, electrical, etc.) for your
display.
I greatly appreciate your consideration of my request. All Aboard!
