Subject: [rc3r] August 20th Meeting - Work Party Highlights
While my agenda for this work party did get derailed we did get back on track
and accomplished the agenda by about 5 PM.
Tom, Jerry, Jack, Bob W., Kevin, Ken, Dexter and Peter attended.
Both corners by the yard lead were repaired. Aging rail joiners were the
problem. Thanks to all who brought the neccessary tools and supplies to fix
both corners. I am certainly glad the experts were on hand to fix the problems.
The Ashland Rail Day prep meeting will be at the Ashland Public Library on
Thursday September 7th @ 5:30 PM. Tom and I plan to attend. Everyone is
welcome. Just need to let the Library know ahead of time for their planning
purposes. November 4th is the date for the event this year.
Other updates:
The raffle table is completed and in the trailer.
The RC3R banner has been cleaned of the tape adhesive from last season and is
ready to hang. Need to buy some suction cups with hooks for the GBGH so there
is minimal cleaning to do in the future.
Peter's 6' model and the train station modules are well under way.
A plan is in place for new skirts for the new modules to include the expansion
of the small layout. The small layout will have a burgandy color skirt. Thanks
Kevin for putting this together.
Gary did a wonderful job of servicing all the club equipment, putting them in
the club O Gauge Hauler boxes and making labels for the boxes. Thanks Gary.
The club trailer was inspected last Saturday morning.
GBGH - dates are locked in. November 20th to January 20th, 2018. Doug has been
given the the Certificate of Liability Insurance for the 2017/2018 season.
- Classic Train weekend to be scheduled this year before Christmas.
- RC3R club meeting on Saturday morning at the GBGH on November
21st. Stay tuned.
Kevin has deleted the memories of the club remotes. The club can start fresh
this season.
Science Museum - set up Monday November 20th. Start between 10 & 11 AM. Stay
tuned.
The next RC3R meeting is scheduled to be at my house on October 14th. Details
to follow.
Ballast and other work parties coming in the near future.
