Hi Jessica,
First, I whish your mom a prompt recovery.
About Slint, I just checked that the instructions in this page still work:
http://slackware.uk/slint/x86_64/slint-14.2.1/README.installation
Let me quote below the part about downloading and cgecking the ISO:
A. Install
Step 1: download then check the ISO image.
You can get the testing ISO image and its sha256 checksum typing:
wget https://slackware.uk/slint/x86_64/slint-14.2.1/iso/slint64-14.2.1.2.iso
wget
https://slackware.uk/slint/x86_64/slint-14.2.1/iso/slint64-14.2.1.2.iso.sha256sum
To check the integrity of the downloaded files type this command:
sha256sum -c slint64-14.2.1.2.iso.sha256sum
the result should be:
OK
Doesn't that work for you?
If yes, also read at least this:
http://slackware.uk/slint/x86_64/slint-14.2.1/doc/Accessibility/Accessibility
Please let me know how that goes, either on this list or in the Slint mailing
list:
https://www.freelists.org/list/slint
Also, don't use the sourceforge website, it has older versions of Slint that
are not
accessible.
Best regards,
Didier

I mean it tries to download. But no matter what I do. It eventually stops.===========================================================
I don't know if its because I am in the US and its in the UK.
In any case. I can't try it if I can't download it.
I am not complaining. I am just saying after trying twenty times. I give up.
I even went to the slint sourceforge page hoping they had an american site
download.
No go. At all.
It might be the internet traffic increase.
But it was downloading really good this time. And then it just stopped again.
Just wouldn't download anymore.
BTW. I am kind of distracted because my mom did end up in the hospital. And
they are treating her for covid and pneumonia.
Whether that is what she has or not. They don't know or aren't saying. We
should know something more today or tomorrow.
But she is doing much better.
They gave her that malaria drug I guess they are talking about that seems to
kill this thing.
She went in barely able to breathe. By 3 pm the same day. She was off the
bypap breathing machine helping her breathe and talking to me on the phone.
She's tired, weak, still struggling to breath a bit. But she said she felt
better. And I said you sound a ton better.
So I am really glad they are doing everything they can to get her back on her
feet with her other health challenges. If this is covid19 that hit her. She I
don't believe will be one of the numbers that died from it.
I do believe she is going to be fine either way.
Oh. Sorry sigh. As I said a bit distracted.
Quiet on the list. I hope all of you are ok.
Jessica
