Fairlie,

Interesting...I do see a good rea$on for moving to ASM from Veritas.
There are lot of people using ASM with Veritas Cluster.but not on
VxFS . I am not sure whether that (ASM onVxFS) is supported
(technically it will work, if there is no cache/QIO is enabled) or
not. ASM just needs disks (or some storage exposed to ASM as Disks)
and if you can expose (!) VxFS volumes as ASM disks, ASM will happily
manage the disks. But it is like running a multi engine (cascaded)
passenger car...;) hope you understand what I mean.:D

I know some one in this list(racdba) who has done that excercise
recently. Let us know if you have any specific question.

Hi all,

There is a plan to move to ASM from Veritas Clustered file System (not my
decision)

a) Is anyone out there using ASM in conjunction with Veritas Clustered file
System
and the whole SFRAC stack?
b) Has anybody been through the process of removing SFRAC and only using
Oracle CRS/Clusterware to manage the cluster.
