Hi

They do have a lot of the unusual there (at Burning man). One, albeit motorized
vehicle, that caught my eye some time back was the riot wheel.

I found it while searching on Monowheels (as opposed to unicycles)
http://www.dself.dsl.pipex.com/MUSEUM/TRANSPORT/motorwhl/motorwhl.htm

The only quasi current HPV versions I ever found were these
http://www.bicyclecommuter.com/Monocycle.htm if anybody has more info on these
(or similar) I would be very interested. At $350 they sound like a great deal.

The HPV version seems to make far more sense than the ubiquitous motorized
versions with their inherent need to avoid rapid acceleration and deceleration
(otherwise leading to "gerbiling"
http://www.jackiechabanais.com/images/tracto5a.jpg).

Cheers
Daryl - I can't help but admire people who leave the path trodden by the
masses. :-)

If you haven't seen the bikes at Burning Man, here's some links:
http://marc.merlins.org/perso/bm/2005/Pix/122_Bikes.jpg
http://marc.merlins.org/perso/bm/2005/Pix/120_Bikes.jpg
http://marc.merlins.org/perso/bm/2005/Pix/135_Bikes.jpg

all at
http://marc.merlins.org/perso/bm/2005/
look about 40% and 66% down

and from previous years http://marc.merlins.org/perso/bm/2004/Pix/105_Bikes.jpg
maybe next year - pythons!
